The Emmbrook School along with Maiden Erlegh co-owns an outdoor education residential centre located in the Welsh village of Tirabad, Powys. Students from years 7-10 and the Sixth Form have the opportunity to spend a week at the centre once a year, the centre offers climbing, sailing, canoeing, caving, orienteering, environmental and field studies.
Sixth Form students from the three trust schools (Emmbrook, Maiden Erlegh and Charters) jointly support the annual New Futures trip, offering students with disabilities to chance to experience Tirabad. These volunteer students raise funds through charity work and then attend the trip to provide support for the younger children.

The Emmbrook School strike happened in 2008. The strike was provoked due to the change of the colleg system. the old system consisted of 4 different colleges Jupiter, Mars, Saturn and Venus. the forms were split into their own year groups. One proposed plan of the new sytem was to have breaks split up so pupils could only socialise with one half of their friends at school. Around half of the schools pupils stayed on the school field singing songs and also marching around the school trying to get more people to join the strike.

Wokingham Borough Council proposed the relocation of The Emmbrook School to the south of the borough in response to the need for more school places south of Wokingham. The plan was to build a new school in Finchampstead and relocate the Emmbrook School to this site. The Emmbrook site would then be converted into a Sixth Form college. Following an intense campaign, the move was abandoned.[3]
